WIP Wednesday

Click now for JiffNotes

Almost a year ago, when I visited Arizona, I bought this awesome recycled silk yarn.
I always had in mind that I wanted to make a Moebius cowl with it, but I hadn't got around to casting it on until Altius August.

I actually cast it on about three times...once it was too short, and the next time I just couldn't stop thinking about how cool the yarn looked loosely wound. Finally I decided to try knitting the Honey Cowl pattern around the Moebius, thinking that the floats would preserve some of the original look of the yarn.
I gotta admit, right now it looks like a complete mess. I have no idea how wide or long it's actually going to turn out. Hmmm, maybe if I'd done something crazy like swatch, I'd have more of an idea...

It will look pretty however big it turns out, I'm sure. And swatch? What? I only really swatch for garments, not accessories.

Ooh, that's pretty cool. If you're not happy with how it's turning out, maybe try a swatch (blasphemy!) holding it doubled with a solid color? It might tone it down a bit without losing all that gorgeousness. Just an idea. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Gorgeous yarn! The best thing about fun yarn like that is that if you're not happy with the finished product, it's not a total pain to start over again, since you love the yarn!

That particular yarn really was hard on my joints/hands. I love the look though

Love the colors in this. It'll be one of those pieces that will go with anything. :D

Swatching? Who swatches? (No matter how much we know we SHOULD, almost none of us do it, right?) If its a mess, at least it's a gloriously colored mess. :)
