I was lucky enough to have a group of online stitchers share them with me for three years. There were few rules...you could stitch only on theme all month, or just pick one project, or theme on weekends. It was a great way to shake up your rotation or stash dive for something you'd forgotten about. We'd post plans at the beginning of the month, and progress at the end.
