Ahoy! It be International Talk Like a Pirate Day! To help all you scaly scalawags out there, I offer my number one tip on how not to sound (or look) like a lubber when talking (or typing) like a pirate:
Pirates say "ARRRR!" They do not say "ARRRGH!" (Or "ARRRG!")
"ARRRGH!" be what ye say if ye drops yer flagon of ale on yer toe (or peg-leg, as the case may be).
So now, step lively, me beauties, and hoist yer colors fer all the world to see!

Aaarrrrrr matey! The pirates were out and about on International Talk Like A Pirate Day in me classroom. There was much giggling about the poop deck and the head.....and much aaarrrrring! Me non-pirate colleagues and student teachers I was mentoring thought I was a mast short of a mainsail at first....Next year there be Talk Like A Pirate Day at our school as a fundraiser....It does me old black heart good to know me swashbuckling nuttiness is catching!
Q: Why are Pirates called Pirates?
A: Because they Aaaarrrrrrr LOL.
