People:
- A "boarder" is someone who rents a room from you. A "border" is something that surrounds an area.
- "Broach" is when you bring up a new topic. A "brooch" is a decorative pin.
- For bonus points..."stationary" is when something is standing still. "Stationery" is pretty paper for writing.

Sorry. My inner grammar nerd gets the best of me sometimes. |

Just like my inner pronunciation nerd (nucular vs nuclear) and my inner usage nerd ("very unique"). Some things just grate on us.
Next you can write about the misuse of apostrophes.
I'd love to hear the story behind this post!
Homophones are fun but make my skin crawl when misused...especially if I am the one misusing them!
alot... that's all I have to add to the conversation...
Homonyms....As a teacher this is one of the most fun of the "nyms" to teach!
Considering the number of people who can't grasp your/you're, there/they're/their and it's/its, I think you're being very demanding XD.
Amen to that!
Also then =/= than.
lol Then there's the differences in spelling such as colour and color.
I've seen this one too many times while gaming: people using the word "his" to say "he is"
NO. JUST STOP RIGHT THERE.
Don't get me started on "lose" and "loose".
Ooo! Ooo!
Can you do one of these for lose/loose, pretty please? Man, that one drives me bat shit - particularly on weight loss forums. How are you supposed to be successful at LOSING weight when you think you are actually loosing it? Tell me THAT one.
LOL!! Do you watch Doctor Who? I forget if you've mentioned it before...if yes, then this comment reminds me of Adipose! If not, well...yeah...you might have to watch that episode. ;) I think the title is "Partners in Crime".
And by the way...I share all the pet peeves you all have mentioned. I just didn't want to get too "ranty" all at once. Hopefully "people who make up words" isn't one of your pet peeves. =)
I just saw a craft post, where someone mention adding "rooching" to a blouse. I was proud of myself for not correcting her spelling in the comments...
Oh, and could we please, PLEASE, learn the difference between a slash and a backslash? I have no respect for otherwise-seemingly-intelligent people on television who say visit facebook-com-backslash-oursite. GAH.
ROFL, thank you!!!! Then, there's theirs and theres.... like really people??? One is a possessive and one isn't even a freaking word!!!!! Cos for theres to work, it needs an apostrophe!! Alright.... I better stop with just this one of I'm going to go all crazy. LOL!!!!
