In which a big hint for finding Hidden Mickeys at the Wilderness Lodge is given, and one of Michael's personality quirks is revealed.
I wasn't going to post this one, since it'd been so long, but I had to show you this bunny.
I mean, really. And NOT ANIMATRONIC!
For our last day at the lodge, we took the tour with our friendly "park ranger" (it's totally worth it if you have the time. Also, you can get an "architectural writeup" from the front desk that tells the full stories of the two totem poles and talks about construction. Very interesting if you like that sort of thing.) Then we went looking for Hidden Mickeys!
Can you see the Hidden Mickey? YEAH, NEITHER COULD WE!
Now, we'd done the Hidden Mickey hunt at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it took us about 45 minutes. But the Hidden Mickey hunt at Wilderness Lodge is NOT Your Grandmother's Hidden Mickey Hunt! Two hours (? Three hours?) later, we'd finally conquered it, but it was not easy. The one around the geyser was really obscure, and I'm still not certain that one in an Artist Pointe painting was legit (or maybe you needed a couple drinks to really see it!)
But I will give you a little hint if you try it. When you get to the clues for the ones that are on floors 4, 5, 6, and 7...here's where you want to look:
The clues are so obscure you have no idea what you're going for, but it's a classic Hidden Mickey.
We ended our time by eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe, which sounds like a nice, peaceful place, but is actually a rollicking joint where, if you are like my husband and down at least two glasses of tea/lemonade/whathaveyou by the time the appetizers come, your waitress comes out and plunks this in front of you:
Notice that Michael approves. Also, he has the look of a man taking on a personal challenge.
Yeah, it was a grudge match.
Our waitress held up the empty glass and shouted to the whole restaurant, "If you see this guy heading for the pool later, you might want to get out."
After lunch, we absolutely had to head home. I'll leave you with the latest collection of pins.
I sure wish I knew what the rest of the dragon collection was! Pete's Dragon, but the fourth...? Mim from Sword in the Stone? If you know, hit the comments!
