I have finished the owl portion of my Owl Cowl!
I love it! It's a LOT bigger than I thought it would be, but I think it's going to be very cute when it's done.
Now I have a question...the chart has you putting the eyes on like this:
But...don't you think the cables set up the eyes? Like, on a real owl they would actually be here?
I'm probably either going to put some eyes peeking out of the cables there on my owl cowl or just leave them off my owl cowl entirely. What do you think?
Also, have I mentioned I like to say "owl cowl"??

Beautiful knitting. And agreeing totally with you with the eyes.
The first version looks to me more like a lamb that is hiding its nose in the neck of the next lamb. When you move the eyes it does actually look like an owl.
But I like lambs too <:)
I used French knots for the eyes on my owl cup cozy and placed them the way you want to. I think that was how the pattern showed them, on the sides.

Beautiful knitting and those eyes are looking so sweet..
Love and hugs x
I agree with you about the wide spaced eyes. You do beautiful cable work!
Love the owl! And I totally agree with your eye placement argument.
I do like the second placement for the eyes. But, I would probably leave them off, or use really small beads to put them in. Either way, it is looking fabulous.
I agree with you for the eye placement - it's definitely more owl-like and striking.
OWL COWL!! (that IS fun to say)
I agree - cables definitely set up the eyes. :)
Your Owl Cowl looks great! I really prefer your eye placement. It makes the owl look me owly, er, owl-like.
I agree, the eyes look better set further apart.
Totally agree with Gabi's comment.
And yes you did mention that you like saying Owl Cowl! Does it make you howl as you prowl wearing your owl cowl holding your trowel in a towel? No? Just me then LOL.
beautiful!
It looks great. I'd go with the wide set eyes too. The close together ones make your owl cowl scowl.
(Sorry, couldn't resist, but I DO prefer the wider spacing)
The first version makes no sense to me.......for an owl. Wider set eyes are cuter. :)
I think you should put all four. Your owl cowl needs to be a glorious four-eyed owl cowl.
The first one ... I... possibly thought of an... Ent... Really too much Tolkien lately!
