Indigo Rose Pincushion

Indigo Rose Pedestal PincushionI finally finished this lovely pincushion, which was taught at ASG...oh dear, I think it was two years ago. It's really sad that it took me that long to do. The gray linen is applied to the white linen, then stuffed. Then you stitch the motifs on the white linen. Honestly, I think what took the longest was stitching on that darn black ribbon beaded trim. I don't do sewing (and no, people, that's not the same thing as needlework). =) I stitched on the ribbon in between games in the Halo 3 Beta while waiting for matchmaking.

Pincushion detailHere's a closeup of the top:
There are 24 1/2" bullion knots on this piece. I think that's also part of the reason it took me so long to finish it!!

Cool pincushion! I love how it is up on a pedestal. And yes, sewing and needlework are two *entirely* different things!

I just love how you incorporate needlework with xbox... and other similar thoughts of a GaTech brain in other posts below! I am amused!

And they think we can't be well-rounded. Go Jackets! ;-p
